To say that BEING is easy is not wrong and yet sometimes it can be just plain hard, or at least it feels that way.  You can feel dashed upon the rocks and tumbled about or stuck in an eddy going nowhere on your journey.  The ultimate goal is to be in the flow, to Be present in every moment of your life and let life show you where you are going.  As a tried and true, Be-er, living in the flow is what I strive for.  To live it and breathe it, to simply Be….

I am not perfect, none of us are, and just because I have written books, lead workshops, and basically make my living helping others to stay grounded and in their Beingness does not mean that I don’t trip up, sometimes stumble and fall headlong into the pool.  I strive to Be most of the time and sometimes I am successful and other times I fail miserably.  I am Ok with that.

In truth if I were so far into my Being as to never step out of its flow, I would no longer be connected to the world and, at least for now, I like being connected.

I have been really working on clearing out the old patterns and beliefs that still keep me stuck in past and out of my Being and past patterns of behavior that are not currently serving me.  It is deep work that has been and continues to be very rewarding.  As I have been doing the work it has stirred up a lot.  Much of which is undefinable and yet powerfully emotionally challenging.  I am working with a dear friend and mentor Sharon Reigie Maynard .  Even mentors and spiritual leaders need mentors, others who can see what we cannot and help lead us out.

This week has been particularly challenging, I have been working to get the BEING MOMENTS phone Apps up and running.  I’m working with a wonderful developer, Matthew Dean, and as technology can be sometimes, there have been a few snafus!  I have also been working with my Web developer, Steffen Fanger, very talented and wonderful at keeping me on point.   Now normally I can just go with the flow, let everything be in its own time and pace.  However, this week I have wanted to push….push….push!  The old habitual behaviors and control freakness have crept in and have been running the show full force for 5 days!  Ok, maybe not 24 hours a day but long enough to have me in a tizzy of self doubt and confusion.

Being – A Practical Guide to Living in the Moment, my book which is just about to be published and available online, it is a labor of love born of years of putting Being into practice and living it everyday.  It has been a wonderful teacher as I learn to let go, to know without a doubt that it has its own expression in the world and I am merely the vehicle for it to manifest into this dimension at this time.  I have been wanting it to be perfect and it already is.  All of the pushing and worrying and cajoling and whatnot will not make it any better any more perfect.  it was perfection when it came in and it will remain perfection.

So as a person Living Being every day, I am acknowledging that Being can Be messy, undone, disheveled and anything else that comes along with life.  Sometimes it’s just not pretty.  Always remember, there is always time to change your mind, move in a different direction, stub your toe, stumble and pick yourself up, dust yourself off and get back to it.  Life and Being are not a race to see who gets there faster, better and with the most brownie points.  Each one of us is here on our own terms, in our own way and pace and in our own flow.  So just relax and enjoy the ride!

If you find yourself on your own path of Being and are needing a little support… you can always check out my website for more suggestions…   www.lorayneevangelyn.com   Remember, Being is not the destination, it is the journey that continually unfolds.

I wish you days filled with joy, laughter, plenty of love and a flow that is free from strife.

Life is a moment by moment adventure.  Are you enjoying it?

As I allow myself to see each moment in my life as an opportunity rather than an obligation I am moving out of being the victim of circumstance and into the creator and explorer of my life!

As the creator I get to choose what each moment will be… a burden or an adventure, the choice has always been mine.  I admit, It has not always felt like my choice, in fact it has mostly felt like I was caught in some disastrous wild, raging wind with no chance at changing the direction.  But… what if we decided to jump off, stop the ride and just BE?  Most of us just do not know that we can stop it.

Now that we have stopped the forward thrusting, out-of-control momentum, we have a choice to either jump on again or change direction.  I choose to change direction but this time do it with focused intention.  Choosing the life I want instead of the one created out of past beliefs and imposed dogma.  What if I chose to see life from the place of Love, Peace, Joy, Fun, Passion, what if…?

Instead of looking at what is, choosing to move into what could be…  Imagine the possibility.  Creating  a life of wonder and magic.

I do not know what you will choose, you have free will.  I am going to choose in this moment a life of pure wonder… Will you join me?

These are important times.  We must move into a state of active Peace! It is up to us to change ourselves and then the world , each of us individually moving out of fear and into our power.

In these times of tumultuous news with earthquakes, threats of nuclear contamination in Japan and threats of War in Libya, I recommend that you center yourself and place yourself in a space of LOVE. If this is elusive to you think of someone you have a deep connection with, (it may be a child, a spouse, a pet, maybe it is nature, trees, a great forest) whatever it is for you I ask you to focus on it NOW.  Take a deep breath and let the feelings of this connection fill you up, moving you out of fear and into a state of peace.  Imagine what the world would be like if each one of us were continually in a deep state of peace and love.

The more we engage in the mass fear, the more we contribute to it. Remove yourself from contributing to fear and be a force of peace and love by moving into and contributing to peace and love.   If this is a challenge for you, there are many guides and teachers that are present and able to teach you how to hold this state of peaceful awareness. I am happy to connect you with a teacher or guide if one does not show up into your awareness.

We are in a time in our world today that requires us to focus on what we want our world to be, not what we see with our physical eyes. There is a great calling upon us to move out of fear and into the active state of peace, becoming a peace agent in the world.

I am sending out the call for all PEACE AGENTS to stand up, be counted and hold steady. We can and will be a force for good and usher in the new energies of peach upon the earth.  Are you ready to hold with us?

There are many teachings that prepare you to be a Peace Agent,  one of them is Reiki. Reiki is a powerful and gentle energy that deeply relaxes the physical form and calms the emotional / mental as well.  Reiki can help you to usher in your own state of peace and love and then send that out into the greater world.  I love Reiki for this because it is something that is readily available around the world as there are many practitioners.  If you would like to locate a Reiki Practitioner in your area you can go to   http://www.reikimembership.com/MembershipListing.aspx this is through the International Center for Reiki Training.

Moving out of fear and not allowing the current news to control how you feel is the first step to becoming a Peace Agent.  It then requires you to take action, get training if needed and then start to actively move into the world and Hold steady.

Are YOU up for the challenge? Are you willing to move beyond the stress and fear of the day and into Peace, Love, Joy and ACTION to make this world a better place?

It starts with just one of us making a stand, will you stand with me?

I am so grateful for all of the many friends, associates and family who continually inspire me.

Today I learned a very powerful lesson;  The level of my ability to recieve is directly proportionate to my ability to give freely.

I use to be the most generous person, I was constantly giving little gifts to people I loved.  When I grandmother passed away I seemed to stop giving.  I remember someone telling me (at least what I heard) that I was giving to get…love, attention, power, you name it.  All of this happened around the same time and so I just stopped.  It was not a consious thought to stop, but I did.  I grew empty, sad, lost.

What I realized today is that giving brought me great JOY and Happiness.  What I stopped was my happiness, my joy.  I was not giving to get from the other person, I was giving to feel the internal Self-Love, the pure unadulterated joy of watching as someone took pleasure in the moment.  I was reveling in there delight because it brought me delight in my heart.  It reminded me of how much I am loved by ME!

As you allow yourself to receive the gift you give to yourself by your generosity, open up to and allow yourself to receive the joy. Tune into your feelings.  What is it you are feeling?  Revel in the joy of the gift to you, Self Love!

Happy Holiday

We’ve all heard it, are you living or dying?  It is pretty simple if you think about it once we are born we grow up and we reach about 18 years of age and then something remarkable happens… instead of growing  we begin to start to expire.  We may not feel it right away but slowly over time we start to show signs of aging and wear on our physical bodies and most especially emotionally and spiritually.  We become shut down and over time our dreams start to age, our enthusiasm, our Joy, our passion starts to fade… Then what?

Well most of us forget that we once had big, humongous Dreams, giant almost inconceivable Dreams.  It is the moment that our dreams slip, our passion fades that we begin to die, that we begin to expire!  I remember when I was about 8 I wanted to grow up and marry an airline pilot and have twin daughters, blond of course.  It was a silly little dream because I have black hair and twins do not run in my family but I did not know any better and anything was possible in my world.  If someone had told me right then and there that my dream was impossible I may have never dreamed again.  This happens to most of us, someone tells us that we can’t possibly want or have our dreams, they are ridiculous, impossible, preposterous and before you know it we are dying again.

Are you seeing a themes here?  Without our Dreams, what is the point?  I for one have always had really big whopper dreams, dreams that reached the sky and beyond.  Most of my dreams have never come true but I believe with all of my being that it is possible because I just keep dreaming bigger and bigger dreams.  As I shift and change my dreams shift and change right along with me.  I spend a lot of time day-dreaming, imagining and pondering what it is I wish to create in my life and then set about visualizing what I want appearing in my life.

I for one refuse to give up dreaming and consequently I think I will never age!  I am forever young!  I am a DREAMER!  I intend to enjoy my life and live it up every chance I get… Want to join me?

Dreamers Unite!

I have been pondering the idea of time lately, it is ever moving and yet there are moments where it seems to stand still.  Why is it that when you are younger it never seems to move fast enough and when you get older it never seems to slow down?  These are the things I find myself pondering in the recesses of my mind.

I was thinking this morning about the “Lazy Days of Summer”  you know, those days where time slows down and we all get to relax, sit back and enjoy life…. STOP EVERYTHING….what happened to those days?  I really want to know.

I think what might have happen to those wonderful times, is that we forgot to relax, just sit back and watch as life ticked by.  When did we get so wrapped up in being busy, going here and there, getting this and that?  As I was pondering what happened to those wonderful times it occurred to me that maybe, just maybe I could bring them back into my life.

So, how do we unplug?  How do we stop the constant thrust forward and just breathe?  B-R-E-A-T-H-E!  I have decided to experiment with this and allow that warmth of the sun to seep into my pores and feel what it is like to stop and relax, enjoy and experience the moments as time just moves by.

I am not sure how I got to the point of the ever moving, doing, accomplishing, task oriented, do…do..doing of life….Argh!  How did we all get there?  I think we have forgotten how important it is to enjoy our lives, the wonderful moments  where nothing of any real significance is happening but that moment is the most important thing ever!  If we can just sit with ourselves and BE.  No TV, Radio, Computer, Car or Job….just that delicious moment…and the next …and the next moment.

I think maybe we have become addicted to the speed, the rush, the ever moving, changing excitement.  I’ll bet that if you allowed yourself the moment to experiencve how each feel, the rush and the peace, you would at first want the rush..it is familiar,  comfortably uncomfortable. But, if you can allow yourself the experience of the peaceful moment, allow yourself the time to let it seep into your very soul, you would not want to let it go.  there is a profound rest in those moments that I long to return to.

I invite you to give yourself the gift of the moment, allow yourself to experience the magic!

Moment by moment,     Lorayne

I just sent in my video for the ‘Your Own Show” on Oprah’s network, what an adventure and growth experience it was.  You know me, I am all about growth opportunities, pushing myself beyond my comfort zone.  I want to take every advantage the universe provides for my growth experience, I say “why waste the trip”!

So I purchased a Kodak Zi8 camera, got my tripod ready, sat down and I was off…  Ok so there is not much memory in the camera and the card that came with it had to be mailed.  So… I had to wait a day or so before I could film.  I purchased a little Kodak desktop trip, not so great, broke right at the start.  So I had my large tripod, it’s for a medium format camera, a little over sized but worked just great.

Card arrives, inserted in the camera and again I am ready to shoot.  I shot in the bedroom, I shot in the office, I shot in my client room, in the living room, you name it I shot there (OK, I drew the line at the bathroom).  it was all about lighting and the perfect background, after all this was Oprah and I was auditioning for my “OWN” show.

What I learned;  I am not a producer or a director.. I gave up looking for video perfection and decided that I was enough, me just as I am…after all that is what they are going to get if I get on the show so might as well give it to them right out the gate.

If you had asked me a year ago to submit a video for a show, a reality show no less, I would have said you were nuts, I did not have the self confidence to do something like that and what if I actually got on, I would have to be on TV!  I got a wonderful opportunity to see how far i have come and that the self work I have been doing has really paid off.  The really amazing thing is that I have no attachment to however this turns out.  Obviously I would not have sent in my video if I did not truly want to be on the show but I also am OK with what ever turn up.  The most important thing I did was showed up and played the game, beyond that…it is gravy!  I did not talk myself out of it, tell myself I was not good enough, let that little voice in my head sabotage my fun, That was the greatest gift.  The realization that I can have fun in life, play the game but not get caught in the game along the way.  What an amazing realization!  I have finally moved out of the crab pot and have become an observer in my own life.  What a cool thing….NOW THE REAL FUN BEGINS!

If you would like to see my audition check this out….. http://myown.oprah.com/audition/index.html?request=video_details&response_id=11888&promo_id=1

If you would like to learn how to become the observer in your own life.. I Can Help.

I am often asked, “What is it you do?”  I am always struck by that question.  It should be simple, after all I talk about my work all of the time.   I am a certified Kalos Health Facilitator and what that means is that I assist people in “getting to the cause” of dis-ease (lack of ease) in their Body/Mind.  Sounds simple doesn’t it?  Interestingly most people do not know what I mean. Interesting but not surprising.  You see most people go to a healthcare provider and that provider looks at them as a statistic.  They come in with a symptom and the provider looks at them and based on the majority of people that present with that symptom they treat them according to the majority.  This is what we have become accustomed to so we do not see anything wrong with it.  Well I do!

What if we went to our Health care facilitator and they said to us “I need to get an overall view of the current state of your body, I am going to do a non-invasive check up using muscle testing and trigger point testing, using your body’s meridian system to identify the deficiencies or weaknesses in your body”.  Right away you know they are working with your body, you are not a statistic.  Next they let you know that based on what you have presented and your original concern, your body is communicating to you that it is not in balance.  It does not stop there, the facilitator then asks your body, again using muscle testing, to communicate what it’s first priority is to correct the imbalance.  Sounds good so far, right?  Are you getting the idea that this is different?

Based on the body’s priority’s in healing the facilitator follows and corrects each priority as it arises.  In this way the client and their body are in control of what is needed for optimal health at all times.  Our bodies are so intelligent and they know what they need to be well, they simply need a facilitator that can communicate what is needed.  A facilitator that has the intent to “get to the cause” in the most efficient, effective manner possible.

I work with clients who come in with all sorts of concerns, issues and complaints.  No issue, concern or complaint is too small or too large and none is more important than another. You see the issue, concern and complaint are connected to an individual who is looking for assistance, they each have an underlying cause and that means, as a facilitator, I want to assist my clients in getting to that cause and correcting it.  I work to correct, shift, move and clear the imbalance in the Body/Mind.  When the cause is identified I assist my client in immeasurable ways by moving them closer to balance and wellness.

Most of my clients have been to several providers before coming to see me.  They have been treating the symptom and not the client as an individual.  You see once the cause is addressed and dealt with the problem no longer exists. This is true healing!

As you can see my answer to the question “What do you do?” is not a simple or short one.  My work is so complex, yet simple, and so far reaching that to casually say, “ I help people get well by getting to the cause” although good, does not speak to the profound healing that is possible with what I do.

There are a few Kalos Health Facilitators in the US and Canada but we need more.  I see this as the way we need to be healing now and in the future and that means we need more facilitators.  I am currently working on developing an educational center to train Kalos Health facilitators and lay people so that we can begin to heal on a greater level.  The education center will be located in the greater Seattle area and I hope to provide continued training for those wanting to become certified.

Currently I am offering Kalos courses in Shoreline, WA and I hold a monthly group to support those who are currently taking courses.  For information on upcoming courses and workshops please visit my website at www.inlightenwellness.com.

I also work with individuals looking to heal on all levels at my office in Shoreline, WA.

If you have any questions, suggestions or comments, I welcome your ideas.

Funny how as we go through our day we encounter obstacles to success around corners we did not even know existed. Has this happened to you?  It happens to me when I least expect it.  That is the way of it, if we expected it, it would not be getting in our way, we would be aware.

I am talking about those pesky little subconscious thoughts that creep in at the most inopportune times and sabotage us from moving forward head long into our lives and our success.

Recently I was preparing for a new class I am teaching, “Prosperity & Money”. It is about getting to the cause of what is in the way of peoples prosperity, their healthy relationship with money.  This is an area that so many people are struggling with and I decided that I was going to provide a course that would assist people to finally get to the truth and find out where their money/prosperity programs and beliefs started.  Since my job is to assist my clients in finding out the programs, beliefs and emotions that are getting in the way of their total health, wealth and happiness it did not seem like such a stretch to create this course.  I was going along just fine until I was awakened by that little voice  (the foreign saboteur) that kept saying, WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?  What do you think you are doing? STOP! What will people think.  You are not qualified.  Maybe none of you have had this voice in your head before and maybe you have and can relate.

This is the very moment when most people are stopped from moving forward. The voice gets the best of them and they believe it to be the truth, and it is for the moment.  Once again it has won and we are put back in our place.  How many times has this happened to you?  Do you stop, give up settle for the familiar inertia?  This is where most people resign themselves to never getting ahead.  As you can see, I know this voice really well, as do you.

This is the critical moment, do I listen to the voice? Or, do I muster all of the courage I can and push forward?  No one would blame me if I sunk back into the wall and continued the status-quo.  After all everyone hears it and they all understand, Right?

Well…what should I do? I could kick myself in the butt and say don’t be an idiot, you have worked too hard and too long to build your reputation, you are respected, you have responsibility.  Oops, what just happened? The voice is using another tactic!  Just another way to sabotage me since the first tact did not seem to work.  Are you starting to get the idea that maybe, just maybe, your perceived lack of success was never yours to begin with?

The foreign saboteur is so subtle, so sneaky, so insidious and it tries every possible way to keep us from moving in the direction of our spirit! So what do we do now?

Let me tell you what I did and do every moment of every day. I stop, take a deep breath and remember right in this moment, and this moment and this moment, I am doing the very best I know how to do.  It may take me a few tries before I can conquer the voice but if I am diligent and remember that it is not me, IT IS NOT ME..,then and only then can I recognize I have won the battle, maybe not the war, but certainly the battle, at least for now. Next time I may let it get the best of me, I have to be OK with that, but the only way it wins is if I give up.  I don’t know about you but I have fought too hard and too long and I am committed to my moving forward.  I am committed to my success and the only person I measure my success to and with is myself.  If I continue to move forward towards my chosen destiny then I will always win.  I will always prevail.

So, what about you, are you finally going to realize the voice in your head that is keeping you from your success is not you? Are you finally going to start being kinder to yourself, gentler and more compassionate?  I would recommend a good healthy dose of self-honoring, self-celebration and self-love.  After all, you chose to be here, to experience all you could and that means success too.  Life is certainly a process and I intend to enjoy the ride!

Here’s to our Success!

This month I will be participating in my second Kalos course on April 16-18 in the Seattle area.  The first time I was the student and now I am learning to assist and teach this wonderful healing system to others. You can find out more about Kalos and the upcoming course at www.inlightenwellness.com.

I have noticed that many times in my life I have stepped forward to teach what I was also in the process of learning. This may sound counter to what most people expect of their teachers, we want them to be perfect, to know everything there is to know about whatever subject we are teaching. There is nothing wrong with wanting your teacher to be proficient in the subject they are teaching, I want the same.

However, I have noticed that when the teacher is also engaged in learning there is something magical that occurs. When the teacher is flowing with the energy of the students and the subject they are in tune with the moment, they are open to newness and magic.

Have you ever taken a course from a teacher that was so bored with their own subject that they almost fell asleep along with the students? I have and I am here to tell you there was nothing magical in the words that were spoken or the subject being taught. I went in with great expectations of learning and left empty.

When the teacher is willing to also be the student of their class then they are open to new experiences, new insights and new possibilities. This is the kind of teaching and learning that I prefer and quite frankly, it is the way I teach all of the courses I teach. I want to learn from my students as they learn from me, there is a synergy that happens and I find the students learn more and with greater enthusiasm.

As I learn from my students my subject gains depth and heart, I am no longer teaching a subject but I am teaching an art, I am engaged in the exploration of both the information and the experience of teaching and learning at the same time.

Maybe it is in the  minor imperfections of the teacher and in their willingness to step forward in teaching that great teachers are born.

If you are interested in classes and courses I teach or am assisting in as I continue to learn, visit my website at www.inlightenwellness.com or call me at 206-406-7158. I teach Reiki 1&2, Adv. and Mastery, Energetic Healing and soon will be teaching Kalos.   It is both my joy and my pleasure to teach and learn with you.

In service,

Lorayne
