I am often asked, “What is it you do?” I am always struck by that question. It should be simple, after all I talk about my work all of the time. I am a certified Kalos Health Facilitator and what that means is that I assist people in “getting to the cause” of dis-ease (lack of ease) in their Body/Mind. Sounds simple doesn’t it? Interestingly most people do not know what I mean. Interesting but not surprising. You see most people go to a healthcare provider and that provider looks at them as a statistic. They come in with a symptom and the provider looks at them and based on the majority of people that present with that symptom they treat them according to the majority. This is what we have become accustomed to so we do not see anything wrong with it. Well I do!
What if we went to our Health care facilitator and they said to us “I need to get an overall view of the current state of your body, I am going to do a non-invasive check up using muscle testing and trigger point testing, using your body’s meridian system to identify the deficiencies or weaknesses in your body”. Right away you know they are working with your body, you are not a statistic. Next they let you know that based on what you have presented and your original concern, your body is communicating to you that it is not in balance. It does not stop there, the facilitator then asks your body, again using muscle testing, to communicate what it’s first priority is to correct the imbalance. Sounds good so far, right? Are you getting the idea that this is different?
Based on the body’s priority’s in healing the facilitator follows and corrects each priority as it arises. In this way the client and their body are in control of what is needed for optimal health at all times. Our bodies are so intelligent and they know what they need to be well, they simply need a facilitator that can communicate what is needed. A facilitator that has the intent to “get to the cause” in the most efficient, effective manner possible.
I work with clients who come in with all sorts of concerns, issues and complaints. No issue, concern or complaint is too small or too large and none is more important than another. You see the issue, concern and complaint are connected to an individual who is looking for assistance, they each have an underlying cause and that means, as a facilitator, I want to assist my clients in getting to that cause and correcting it. I work to correct, shift, move and clear the imbalance in the Body/Mind. When the cause is identified I assist my client in immeasurable ways by moving them closer to balance and wellness.
Most of my clients have been to several providers before coming to see me. They have been treating the symptom and not the client as an individual. You see once the cause is addressed and dealt with the problem no longer exists. This is true healing!
As you can see my answer to the question “What do you do?” is not a simple or short one. My work is so complex, yet simple, and so far reaching that to casually say, “ I help people get well by getting to the cause” although good, does not speak to the profound healing that is possible with what I do.
There are a few Kalos Health Facilitators in the US and Canada but we need more. I see this as the way we need to be healing now and in the future and that means we need more facilitators. I am currently working on developing an educational center to train Kalos Health facilitators and lay people so that we can begin to heal on a greater level. The education center will be located in the greater Seattle area and I hope to provide continued training for those wanting to become certified.
Currently I am offering Kalos courses in Shoreline, WA and I hold a monthly group to support those who are currently taking courses. For information on upcoming courses and workshops please visit my website at www.inlightenwellness.com.
I also work with individuals looking to heal on all levels at my office in Shoreline, WA.
If you have any questions, suggestions or comments, I welcome your ideas.

Funny how as we go through our day we encounter obstacles to success around corners we did not even know existed. Has this happened to you? It happens to me when I least expect it. That is the way of it, if we expected it, it would not be getting in our way, we would be aware.
I am talking about those pesky little subconscious thoughts that creep in at the most inopportune times and sabotage us from moving forward head long into our lives and our success.
Recently I was preparing for a new class I am teaching, “Prosperity & Money”. It is about getting to the cause of what is in the way of peoples prosperity, their healthy relationship with money. This is an area that so many people are struggling with and I decided that I was going to provide a course that would assist people to finally get to the truth and find out where their money/prosperity programs and beliefs started. Since my job is to assist my clients in finding out the programs, beliefs and emotions that are getting in the way of their total health, wealth and happiness it did not seem like such a stretch to create this course. I was going along just fine until I was awakened by that little voice (the foreign saboteur) that kept saying, WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? What do you think you are doing? STOP! What will people think. You are not qualified. Maybe none of you have had this voice in your head before and maybe you have and can relate.
This is the very moment when most people are stopped from moving forward. The voice gets the best of them and they believe it to be the truth, and it is for the moment. Once again it has won and we are put back in our place. How many times has this happened to you? Do you stop, give up settle for the familiar inertia? This is where most people resign themselves to never getting ahead. As you can see, I know this voice really well, as do you.
This is the critical moment, do I listen to the voice? Or, do I muster all of the courage I can and push forward? No one would blame me if I sunk back into the wall and continued the status-quo. After all everyone hears it and they all understand, Right?
Well…what should I do? I could kick myself in the butt and say don’t be an idiot, you have worked too hard and too long to build your reputation, you are respected, you have responsibility. Oops, what just happened? The voice is using another tactic! Just another way to sabotage me since the first tact did not seem to work. Are you starting to get the idea that maybe, just maybe, your perceived lack of success was never yours to begin with?
The foreign saboteur is so subtle, so sneaky, so insidious and it tries every possible way to keep us from moving in the direction of our spirit! So what do we do now?
Let me tell you what I did and do every moment of every day. I stop, take a deep breath and remember right in this moment, and this moment and this moment, I am doing the very best I know how to do. It may take me a few tries before I can conquer the voice but if I am diligent and remember that it is not me, IT IS NOT ME..,then and only then can I recognize I have won the battle, maybe not the war, but certainly the battle, at least for now. Next time I may let it get the best of me, I have to be OK with that, but the only way it wins is if I give up. I don’t know about you but I have fought too hard and too long and I am committed to my moving forward. I am committed to my success and the only person I measure my success to and with is myself. If I continue to move forward towards my chosen destiny then I will always win. I will always prevail.
So, what about you, are you finally going to realize the voice in your head that is keeping you from your success is not you? Are you finally going to start being kinder to yourself, gentler and more compassionate? I would recommend a good healthy dose of self-honoring, self-celebration and self-love. After all, you chose to be here, to experience all you could and that means success too. Life is certainly a process and I intend to enjoy the ride!
Here’s to our Success!
